How To Add A New #Recipe From ReciFoto.com

Adding a recipe from ReciFoto.com is really just as easy as using the App!

1. Go to ReciFoto.com

2. Log in, or register if you have not registered to use the App or website before.

3. Once you are logged in, you will see your user name in the upper right corner. Place your cursor over your user name and click add new recipe from the drop down menu.

4. Type the title, and if you want a URL to link to a web page, and/or a #descriptor (i.e. Apple Pie #dessert)

5. Then click the Choose File button to select an image, either a picture of the recipe itself, or the finished product if you are linking to a webpage in the title.

6. Then, click the Add Recipe button and you are done!

You can then add comments about the recipe when you go back to the main recipe page.

As always, have fun, and if you need any help, contact support@recifoto.com.

How To Add A #Recipe From Your Blog or Website to ReciFoto Using The App

1. Pick a recipe!

2. Take a screenshot:

With an iPhone or iPad, you take a screenshot by holding down the home button and power button at the same time. It goes into your photos.

With Android, you hold the power button and volume down button at the same time. It also goes into your photos.

With a Mac, you hit Command, Shift and the 4 key at the same time to bring up a cursor that allows you to select the image. Hold the mouse button or track pad down to select a square image (works best).

Windows – sorry it’s been years, but here’s a link to Wikihow.com that tells you how.

3. Copy the URL of the recipe page, if it is long, copy and paste it into bitly.com for a short link – this is really recommended for all URLs. You can let people know the name of your site and Twitter handle in the comments!

4. Open the ReciFoto app. Click the third tab at the bottom (looks like a camera). Select Album to pick your picture. Then type the recipe title add a space and one extra character, and paste the URL of the recipe.  One of the oddities of pasting is that it wants to copy over the last word of your title if you don’t add that space and extra character. You may find it easier to e mail the url to yourself and copy and paste it that way.

5. Hit submit and you are good to go.

6.If you want to edit the title, tap the fifth tab (the group of people). Click on recipes, tap the title and make your edits and hit return.

7. If you are unhappy with the result, you can tap the 4th tab (Chef’s Hat). Tap on the … on the bottom right of the recipe. Click delete.

It seems like a lot of steps, but it really is easy! Once you’ve done it once or twice it takes less than a couple of minutes for each recipe.

You can also add comments about your recipe by tapping the speech bubble.

And be sure to add your photo and profile in the fifth tab. We’d love to know more about you!

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll tell you how to add a recipe from www.recifoto.com.

But you’re smart, so I’ll bet you can figure it out all by yourself.

Try ReciFoto.com to Post Your #Recipes

ReciFoto.com is finally working well enough so that I am willing to write a post about it!  You can add recipes, edit your recipes, delete recipes you’ve added, scroll through recipes, share recipes, search the thousands of recipes, use the alphabetical index and so much more!

So if you don’t feel like using it on your iPhone, iPad or Android device, you can use your computer! If you are over 50 like me, it’s a lot easier to read some of the recipes on your computer, too.

You can also find links to the iPhone, iPad and Android versions on the ReciFoto.com home page.

We’re always looking for ways to make things better, so if you have any ideas, be sure to let us know.

One caveat is that if you use your computer and then go back to your other device, or vice versa, you’ll have to log back in if you are using the same user id.

I Went Crazy This Morning #recipe

All summer long, I’ve been rebelling from my usual bowl of McCann’s Irish Oatmeal. Most mornings I have been substituting it with a pancake made with 1/2 cup of rolled oats that I put in the blender first to give a more floury consistency.  Then I add 1/2 cup of egg whites, or sometimes 1 egg and the balance, egg white,  and 1/4 cup of whatever milk is on hand – almond, soy, cow.  There are dozens of variations I’ve done, adding fruit to the mix (although if you do this, cut down on the milk), adding herbs to the mix. Sometimes I’ll add raisins, craisins, or berries while its cooking on the first side.

Oatmeal/Egg White Pancake with Kale
Oatmeal/Egg White Pancake with Kale

Today, I went crazy.  It’s Friday and I wanted to use up some the previous weekend’s purchases from the Chappaqua Farmers Market.  I added a handful of kale (can’t remember if it was from Obercreek Farm or Running Creek Farm) to the Bullet when mixing up my morning Oatmeal/Egg White Pancake.  It broke up a little when I went to turn it, but that didn’t really matter.

I smeared a layer of Sohha  Tangy Yogurt on the plate, upon which I placed my green pancake, and topped it with some smoked wild sockeye salmon.  Three part harmony has not been this good since early Crosby, Stills and Nash. What a way to start the day!
